Charlotte County is a rural piedmont county in Southside Virginia with rolling terrain of mixed forests and tobacco farmland. The county supports healthy deer and turkey populations and is one of the better areas for quail hunting in central Virginia. Red Oak Mountain and other timber tracts offer hunting access.
