Giles County is a mountain county along the New River in southwest Virginia with dramatic cliffs, gorges, and forested ridges. The Jefferson National Forest covers significant portions of the county, offering excellent public land hunting for deer, bear, and turkey. Mountain Lake Wilderness and other remote areas provide backcountry hunting experiences.
