Mecklenburg County is a large Southside Virginia county along the North Carolina border featuring Kerr Reservoir (Buggs Island Lake). The county provides excellent deer and turkey hunting on its rolling piedmont terrain. Waterfowl hunting is productive on Kerr Reservoir, and dove hunting on agricultural fields is popular in fall.
