Cavalier Wildlife Management Area

Cavalier WMA is located in the southern Piedmont of Halifax County, offering deer and turkey hunting in a mix of pine and hardwood forests. The area includes Banister Lake, which provides opportunities for waterfowl hunting and fishing. Managed dove fields draw good numbers of hunters in the early fall. The Piedmont landscape features rolling terrain that is relatively easy to navigate compared to mountain WMAs.
