Fort Barfoot (formerly Fort Pickett)

Other · Nottoway, Dinwiddie, Brunswick · Piedmont Virginia

Fort Barfoot, formerly known as Fort Pickett, opens significant portions of its acreage to public hunting through a managed access program. The installation's Piedmont habitat supports strong deer and turkey populations that benefit from the restricted access and habitat management. Dove fields on the installation are among the most productive in the southern Piedmont. Hunting access is subject to military training schedules, and hunters must register and obtain permits through the installation's natural resources office.
