Highland Wildlife Management Area
WMA · Highland · Mountain Virginia
Highland WMA is located in Virginia's least-populated county, sometimes called Virginia's Switzerland for its high-elevation mountain scenery. The area offers exceptional deer and bear hunting in remote, rugged mountain terrain. Turkey populations are healthy in the hardwood hollows, and grouse hunting can be productive along the high ridges. The remote location and difficult access keep hunting pressure low, rewarding those willing to make the drive.
