Laurel Fork Special Management Area

Other · Highland · Mountain Virginia

Laurel Fork is a special management area within the George Washington National Forest, prized for its high-elevation bogs and pristine native trout streams. The area offers remote deer, turkey, and bear hunting in one of Virginia's wildest landscapes. The boggy terrain and dense vegetation make navigation challenging but reward hunters with very low pressure and undisturbed wildlife. This is one of the few places in Virginia where the forest still feels truly wild.
