Mockhorn Island Wildlife Management Area

WMA · Northampton · Eastern Virginia

Mockhorn Island WMA is a remote barrier island complex on Virginia's Eastern Shore, accessible only by boat. The area provides exceptional waterfowl hunting in the tidal marshes and bays during the Atlantic Flyway migration. Whitetail deer have established a population on the island and can be hunted during the appropriate seasons. The boat-access-only requirement keeps hunting pressure low and maintains a wilderness character.
